Interesting Articles

Here's some interesting articles from The Journal of Web Librarianship discussing Twitter, social networking, and the future of Library 2.0. If you have the time they are quick reads and very interesting.

  1. I would also like to add a link to the Pew Internet report on the use of Twitter amongst adults in the United States...
    Twitter and status updating

  2. I appreciated Brian Matthews' article re:Library 2.1 ideas/initiatives that are out there. Using Twitter for outreach to keep connected with faculty as part of our liaison work is something that caught my attention as did the examples of libraries (Florida State and Georgia State)who are using Meebo in clever ways.

I liked how Matthews explained that Library 2.1 takes on the challenge of improving and tweaking the use of sustainable software that we're accustomed to using.

I'll be anxious to hear about different sessions that Suzanne (Sawyer) and Karl attend @ALA next wk. Their heads will be swimming with Library 2.1 ideas.
